The Gifts They Really Want: Our Top Tech Picks for the Holidays!

It's that time of year again! We present our top tech picks of the year so you can have a happy, tech-filled holiday season!

For your money, you can't beat an Asus Zenbook. Asus has always been a reliable choice in hardware but the Zenbook blows the competition away by being light weight, incredibly fast and operating on an SSD, which makes it quieter too! The only real downside is that they come pre-loaded with Windows 8. But what kind of tech experts would we be if we let a pre-loaded OS ruin our day?

Tablets

Basically, we prefer anything running Android for the customization options but for hardware, we're going with Asus again. Asus has two strong entries on the market now, the Asus Transformer and the Asus/Samsung Nexus 7 for Google. The Nexus 7 is the result of a heated competition among developers to provide "The Google tablet" and it definitely shows in the quality of the device. We recommend the smaller, 7" model for the younger set (it's easier to hold onto firmly) and the larger, 10" model for adults.

Phones

We can't say it enough, Android, Android, Android!

If you want to add any level of customization to your device, Android is the way to go. The Android OS makes it a breeze to install your own apps or alter third-party apps. The Samsung Galaxy SII or SIII represent the perfect marriage of hardware and software.

And one last pick for the holiday season, one you’ll need after all that shopping and visits from relatives out of town: Sam Adams Octoberfest Hacker-Pschorr. It sure does taste great this time of year! Cheers!
